Structure of the Controller and Accountant - General's Department

The Controller and Accountant-General (CAG) is the Chief Accounting Officer and the Chief Advisor to the Government of Ghana and offers advice on accounting matters to Government.

The CAG is ably assisted by six Deputy Controllers and Accountant-Generals who head and manage the affairs of the following Divisions;

The Finance and Administration Division is responsible for the finance and administrative functions of the Department.

The purpose of the Division is to ensure the control, measurement, analysis and classification of the financial flows of Government.

The FMS Division of the CAGD is responsible for the development and implementation of sound financial management..

The ICTM Division is responsible for the management of all the CAGD’s Information and Communications Technology resources.

The Payroll Management Division is one of the six divisions of the CAGD.

The Audit & Investigations Division is one of the six Divisions of the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department.
